Common Name: Creeping Foxglove

Asystasia gangetica (Creeping Foxglove) is a hardy, fast-growing, evergreen groundcover indigenous to South Africa.

Growth Habit: Vigorous, mat-forming creeper with trailing stems and lush green foliage.
Height/Spread: 10–15 cm tall, spreading rapidly over large areas.
Flowers: Showy, trumpet-shaped purple to violet flowers with yellow throats, produced throughout most of the year, especially in warmer months.
Position: Full sun to semi-shade.
Watering: Low to moderate water needs; drought-tolerant once established.
Soil: Well-drained soils; tolerates sandy and poor conditions.
Uses: Excellent for erosion control, covering banks, stabilising soil, and suppressing weeds. Attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Ideal for coastal and inland gardens.
